Medica Launches Healthcare Reform Public Information Campaign

What Does Healthcare Reform Mean for You?

MINNETONKA, Minn.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Medica has developed an information campaign to help Minnesotans understand how healthcare reform affects them individually. The campaign is designed for any Minnesotan with questions about healthcare reform; it is not targeted exclusively at Medica members or potential Medica members. The campaign kicks off August 22 at the Minnesota State Fair, where Medica will have a booth, and will be supported by a number of additional resources. The campaign runs through the end of the year.

Fairgoers can stop by the Medica booth where they can ask trained Medica staff questions about their health insurance situation. In addition to providing information at the fair, Medica has created a number of other information vehicles that provide the straight scoop on healthcare reform:

  • A website (www.medica.com/reform) that allows users to drill down into information about healthcare reform specific to their situations. The site also includes a subsidy calculator that will help people estimate their annual premiums before and after any assistance they may qualify for. Rates in the calculator are based on estimates based on national averages.
  • A hotline (1-855-HCR-8588) that consumers can call with questions about healthcare reform. The hotline, 1-855-HCR-8588, is staffed by Medica employees trained to answer healthcare reform questions.
  • Informative videos that explain the impact of healthcare reform for people who learn visually and want to explore topics on their own. The videos are hosted on the website and available on Medica’s YouTube channel www.youtube.com/medica4me.
  • The campaign will be supported with print, radio and out-of-home advertising and through Medica social media channels on Twitter, Facebook and YouTube.
